AOD-9604 is a fragment of growth hormone studied for fat metabolism without the growth effects of the whole hormone.

For the 59% of dogs carrying too much weight, alongside a measured bowl and daily walks. Canitide LEAN is 5 mg of AOD-9604 in a cartridge, given each morning before food for twelve weeks.

## AOD-9604 dose by weight band (Canitide LEAN, Daily (morning, before food) · 12-week cycle)

| Weight band | Per dose | Per dose (mcg) | Per week | Cartridge lasts | Club cadence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small (under 20 lb) | 4 units | 68 mcg | 28 units | ~10 weeks | every 8 weeks |
| Medium (20–50 lb) | 6 units | 102 mcg | 42 units | ~7 weeks | every 6 weeks |
| Large (50–90 lb) | 8 units | 136 mcg | 56 units | ~5 weeks | every 4 weeks |
| Giant (90 lb and up) | 10 units | 170 mcg | 70 units | ~4 weeks | every 4 weeks |

## If you use a vial

A 5 mg vial of AOD-9604 in 3 mL of bacteriostatic water is 1.67 mg/mL, the same concentration as a LEAN cartridge. On a U-100 insulin syringe one unit is also 0.01 mL.

## Questions

### What is the AOD-9604 dose for dogs?

LEAN doses 4, 6, 8 or 10 units each morning by weight band, before food. One unit carries about 17 mcg of AOD-9604.

### Will my dog lose weight on AOD-9604 alone?

The research is about fat metabolism, not appetite, and no peptide replaces a measured bowl and a walk. LEAN pairs with both; a vet-set target weight is the right starting point.

### Why before food?

The protocol follows the fasted-morning dosing used in the research. Give the dose, then breakfast.

### What does the research say?

A 2001 study in Endocrinology on the lipolytic fragment of growth hormone in obese mice, and metabolic studies of the synthetic domain in 2000. There is no canine trial.
