TB-500 is sold as a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring protein that moves repair cells to damaged tissue. Working-dog and equine circles have used it for recovery for well over a decade.

It is almost always run alongside BPC-157, which is why Canitide sells the pair pre-mixed in one REPAIR cartridge rather than two vials. The dose per weight band is the same number of units for both peptides.

## If you use a vial

A 10 mg vial of TB-500 in 3 mL of bacteriostatic water is 3.33 mg/mL, the same concentration as the TB-500 in a REPAIR cartridge. On a U-100 insulin syringe one unit is also 0.01 mL.

## Questions

### What is the TB-500 dose for dogs per pound?

Canitide does not dose per pound; it doses by band, because the animal research is in mg/kg ranges and a pen dials whole units. REPAIR gives 6, 9, 12 or 15 units a dose for dogs under 20 lb, 20–50 lb, 50–90 lb and 90 lb and up. Each unit carries about 33 mcg of TB-500 and 33 mcg of BPC-157.

### Can I give BPC-157 and TB-500 together?

Yes; that is the usual pairing in working-dog recovery and the reason REPAIR is one cartridge. The working theory is that BPC-157 acts locally on blood supply and tendon cells while the thymosin fragment supports repair-cell movement. The theory comes from separate studies, not a trial of the combination.

### How long is a TB-500 cycle?

REPAIR runs five days on, two days off, for eight weeks, then four weeks off. Many owners then run maintenance cycles.

### What does the research say?

Thymosin beta-4 has been shown, in mouse models, to promote cell migration and cardiac repair. A 2012 analytical study characterized the acetylated seven-residue fragment in a tested preparation. There is no controlled trial in dogs.
