Canonical: https://canitide.com/faq/ ## Products ### What is a peptide, in plain English? A short chain of amino acids that acts as a signal. Where glucosamine supplies raw material for cartilage, a peptide like BPC-157 is studied for how it tells cells to migrate, repair and grow new blood supply. Same alphabet as protein, much shorter word. ### Which formula should I start with? Most owners start with REPAIR (BPC-157 + TB-500). It has the deepest research base and covers the most common reason people come to us: a dog slowing down or recovering. If your dog is needle-averse or the concern is digestive, start with GUT capsules. Add a second formula two weeks later if you want to. ### Can I use more than one formula at once? Yes, and protocols are built that way. Use separate cartridges and doses; never mix cartridges. Add one formula at a time, two weeks apart, so you can tell what is doing what. ### How is this different from the vial kits other brands sell? Same peptides, same 10 mg + 10 mg in REPAIR. Everything else is different. Ours arrive pre-mixed and sterility-tested in a cartridge for a dial-dose pen, so you never reconstitute powder or draw up an insulin syringe. Every lot has a published certificate. There are six formulas, not one. And you pay nothing until it ships. ### Do you have products for cats? A feline line is scheduled for 2028. Cats metabolize several compounds differently, so it gets its own formulas and its own dosing bands. ## Reserving ### What does “reserve” mean? You place your order with your email and shipping address. No card is needed and nothing is charged. Before your order ships, we email you a secure link to pay the total shown at reservation. Your price and your place in the production run are held from the day you reserve. ### When does it ship? The first Canitide production run ships January 2027. Founding Pack orders ship first, in the order they were reserved. ### Can I cancel? Any time before it ships, for any reason, from the link in your reservation email or by emailing hello@canitide.com. Nothing to refund because nothing was charged. After it ships, the 60-day guarantee applies. ### Will the price change? No. The price you reserve at is the price you pay, even if list prices rise before shipping. ## The Canitide Pen ### How does the pen work? Load a cartridge, twist on a needle, prime two units, dial your dog’s dose, and press the button under loose skin at the scruff or flank. Hold for five seconds, remove, cap the needle, and drop it in the sharps container. ### Does it hurt? The needle is 32-gauge and 4 mm long, finer and shorter than the insulin syringes in most vial kits. Most dogs react less than they do to a vaccine. Treats help. So does doing it at breakfast. ### How long does a cartridge last? It depends on the formula and your dog’s weight band. A REPAIR cartridge lasts about ten weeks for a dog under 20 lb and about four weeks for a dog over 90 lb; every formula is dosed so one cartridge covers at least a four-week cadence. The dosing page calculates it for you. ### Can I use the pen with my own vials? No. The pen accepts sealed 3 mL Canitide cartridges only. Refilling cartridges from vials is not sterile and defeats the point. ### What if the pen breaks? Two-year warranty. Email us a photo and a replacement ships the same day. ## Dosing ### How do you dose by weight? Every formula has four weight bands: under 20 lb, 20–50 lb, 50–90 lb, and 90 lb and up. Each band has a units-per-dose number printed on the card in your kit and on every product page. One unit on the pen is 0.01 mL. ### What is a cycle? A run of dosing followed by a rest. REPAIR is five days on, two off, for eight weeks, then four weeks off. VITAL is three times a week for eight weeks. LONG is ten days, twice a year. Cycles are on each product page. ### I missed a dose. Now what? Skip it and continue on schedule. Do not double up. ### Can I give it with food or other supplements? Injections are independent of meals. GUT capsules can be opened over food. If your dog takes prescription medication, especially NSAIDs, steroids or insulin, talk to your vet before starting. ## Safety & vets ### Are these FDA-approved? No. Like every peptide product for dogs, Canitide formulas are sold for research purposes and are not FDA-approved drugs. What we add is the part nobody else does: an independent certificate on every lot, dosing to your dog’s weight, and a vet program so your clinic can be part of it. ### Should I talk to my vet first? Yes. Bring the product page and the certificate of analysis; both are built to be read by a vet. If your clinic wants a direct line, the Vet Program is for exactly that. ### What has been reported? In the animal research literature the most common findings are mild and local: a small bump at the injection site, temporary lethargy on the first day or two. If you see anything that worries you, stop and call your vet, then tell us at hello@canitide.com so we can log it. ### What about dogs with cancer or on chemotherapy? Do not start any Canitide protocol without your oncologist’s explicit sign-off. Several of these compounds are studied for their effect on cell growth and blood supply; that is exactly why they are not for every dog. ## Ordering & Club ### How does Canipep Club work? Capsules and supplies ship in a standard mailer. ### Do you ship outside the US? All fifty states, including Alaska and Hawaii. International shipping follows after launch.
