Arthritis is the most common reason owners come to Canitide. Here is what people use, what the research models were, and what to do first.

## First, your vet

A diagnosis. Stiffness after rest, trouble with stairs and a shorter walk are arthritis in most older dogs, but they are also hip dysplasia, a cruciate tear and spinal disease. An exam and, often, radiographs come before any protocol. Weight is the other first step: every pound off a sore joint matters more than anything in a cartridge.

## What owners use

REPAIR (BPC-157 + TB-500) is where most owners start, five days a week for eight weeks, dosed by weight band. The Mobility Protocol adds VITAL for the dog that has the will but not the stamina. Owners who already give an NSAID, Adequan or Librela keep doing so and tell the vet before adding anything.

## What the research is

BPC-157 has rodent tendon and ligament healing studies going back to 2003 and a 2022 beagle pharmacokinetic study; thymosin beta-4 has mouse cell-migration research. A 2024 epidemiology study in Scientific Reports describes how common radiographic osteoarthritis is in young dogs. None of it is a controlled canine arthritis trial.

## Questions

### Can peptides replace my dog’s NSAID?

No. Nothing on this site is a replacement for pain control your vet prescribed. Owners run REPAIR alongside it and bring the dosing card to the next visit.

### How soon do owners notice anything?

In the first two weeks, if at all, it is subtle: easier rising, a longer walk. The biggest reported changes come in weeks four to eight. Keep a weekly note in Fieldnotes so you are comparing to a record, not a memory.

### Is this the same as PRP or stem cells?

No. Those are procedures done at the clinic. Peptides are a home protocol. Some practices run both; ask yours.
