## First, your vet

Rule out the common causes: a skin exam, a thyroid panel, flea control and a look at the diet. Collagen peptides in the bowl are a different thing from GHK-Cu and are worth trying first.

## What owners use

COAT (GHK-Cu) daily for eight weeks, dosed by band. The Show Coat bundle adds GUT for dogs whose skin follows their stomach.

## What the research is

GHK-Cu has 1990s canine open-wound healing research, a 2018 review of its regenerative actions, and a 2008 review of the tripeptide in tissue remodeling. The coat use is an extrapolation from skin remodeling.

Hair grows slowly. Photograph the same spot weekly; owners report changes over the eight-week cycle.

### Can it help hot spots?
