Epitalon (epithalon) is a four-amino-acid peptide studied for telomerase activity and lifespan in rodent models.

Epitalon dose by weight band.
One pen unit is 0.01 mL and carries about 33 mcg of Epitalon. The bands are set from the mg/kg ranges in the animal research, rounded to whole units.

A short cycle, twice a year, for senior dogs: Canitide LONG is 10 mg of epitalon in a cartridge, given daily for ten days, repeated every six months.
Reserve Canitide LONGIf you use a vial
A 10 mg vial of epitalon in 3 mL of bacteriostatic water is 3.33 mg/mL, the same concentration as a LONG cartridge. On a U-100 insulin syringe one unit is also 0.01 mL, so the chart above reads the same. What changes with the pen: no reconstitution, no drawing up, a sterility-tested cartridge, a 32G × 4 mm needle, and a dial you cannot misread. The pen versus vial kits.
Questions about Epitalon for dogs
What is the epitalon dose for dogs?
LONG doses 15, 20, 25 or 30 units a day for ten days by weight band, then nothing for six months. One unit carries about 33 mcg.
Why only ten days?
The protocol follows the short-course dosing in the rodent lifespan research. A cartridge covers one ten-day cycle.
Can a young dog take it?
LONG is for senior dogs. Canitide products are not for dogs under one year.
What does the research say?
Studies in human fibroblasts (2004) on overcoming the division limit, and in female mice (2003) on biomarkers of aging, lifespan and spontaneous tumor incidence. There is no canine trial.
