KPV for dogs: dosage chart by weight
KPV is the three-amino-acid C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, studied for intestinal inflammation. It is taken up by the PepT1 transporter in the gut, which is why an oral form makes sense.

What is the KPV dose for dogs?
GUT gives one capsule a day for dogs under 20 lb and two a day for everyone else. Each capsule carries 250 mcg of KPV and 500 mcg of BPC-157 arginate.
Can I open the capsule?
Yes. Open it over food or give it whole. The capsule is delayed-release so the peptides reach the intestine.
Is KPV the same as the KPV in skin products?
Same peptide, different route. GUT is oral and aimed at the intestine, where the PepT1 research was done.
What does the research say?
A 2008 study in Gastroenterology found PepT1-mediated uptake of KPV reduces intestinal inflammation in mouse colitis. There is no canine trial.
